Commissioned by Tommy Boy for their “Greatest Beats” collection in 1998 we chose to remix the classic Jazzy Sensation by Afrika Bambaata and the Jazzy 5 which marked our return after a 13 year break. It was released only on special promos to cd and vinyl and has been remastered in 2016 for digital release. This also includes Lessons One, Two and Three so this was our complete catalog at the time.

Our first mix in over 10 years it in a way was our Lesson 4, even though Lesson 4 was started in 1987 but not finished until 2018. During production it was victoriously titled We’re Back.

Jazz was the first Double Dee and Steinski mix done using Pro Tools, version 4 to be exact, and so it was our first digitally produced piece. And it was the first time Steinski had hands on the controls for one of our mixes. To this day it sits at the top of our favorite tracks!
